HOW TO MAKE CHIPS

Steps:

  1. Preparation:

    • Wash and peel the potatoes.

    • Slice them into thin, even pieces. You can use a knife or a mandoline slicer for consistency.

  2. Soak the Slices:

    • Place the slices in a bowl of cold water for about 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch and makes the chips crispier.

    • After soaking, drain and pat them dry using a clean towel.

  3. Heat the Oil:

    • Pour oil into a deep pan or fryer and heat it to about 180°C (350°F).

  4. Fry the Chips:

    • Carefully place the slices in the hot oil in small batches. Fry until golden and crispy (about 2-3 minutes per batch).

    • Use a slotted spoon to remove the chips and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.

  5. Season and Serve:

    • Sprinkle salt or your favorite seasoning while the chips are still warm.
